Ken Loc Dolls

Saturday, December 19th, 2009I can’t stand my daughter having all these dolls. She rarely ever plays with them now, and I’m starting to think that the purpose of dolls was for children to leave them in the floor in order for the parent to step on, or and amputate them. I never cared much for Barbie, Bratz, or baby dolls. I hate to buy things just for the sake of buying it. I bought her a “kid doll”, and less than three months later, I found the doll had lost all it’s limbs.
I had also bought her this
baby doll when she was really young. It came with a bottle and a car seat and I regret ever buying it. It drove me crazy when I had a two year old crying because she wanted to tote her doll around, along with strapping the baby doll’s car seat in the car whenever we went out. I felt like a grandmother at twenty years old. From that point on, I thought I was set on not buying anymore dolls. Wrong!
The other day, I was at at Wal-mart. I only had one more thing to get off my daughter’s list and “that was it.” Then I came across this doll. This was the first time I’ve seen a doll with an afro in person (aside from the internet). (Note: The doll’s hair was actually in a more round afro and the hair was darker.)
It cost around $22. I loved the way this doll look, despite it being the edition being called “Dance Crewz.” It’s not too often you see a doll with an afro in a popular store. I feel that if a girl has a collection of dolls, it would not hurt to put some afros in the mix to represent. You already know I bought the doll, right?
